APPEALS COURT HEARS ARGUMENTS ON ABORTION AMENDMENT LANGUAGE AND MISSOURI CHRISTIANS MUST PRAY FOR AN HONEST RULING

Missouri Western District Court of Appeals

Yesterday the Missouri Court of Appeals heard oral arguments that could determine whether Missourians will receive a fair and honest ballot summary on the 2026 Amendment 3 pro life measure. Opponents of the amendment, many of whom openly support abortion on demand, are asking the court to strike down the current summary language and replace it with something that benefits their cause.

Their argument is simple. They claim voters will not understand the question. The reality is just as simple. Our summary language is fair, accurate, and clear. What they truly fear is that Missourians will understand exactly what Amendment 3 does. It restores strong pro life protections with commonsense exceptions and it reverses the radical 2024 amendment that legalized abortion through all nine months.

What Happened Yesterday

Attorneys aligned with last year’s abortion rights campaign appeared before the Western District Court of Appeals to challenge the ballot language for the new pro life amendment. They argued that the summary does not spell out the full implications of repealing the 2024 amendment and they claimed it misleads voters simply because it does not adopt their preferred political framing.

State attorneys pushed back, making it clear that the purpose of ballot language is not to give activists everything they want. The purpose is to give voters a straightforward explanation. Our current summary does exactly that. It tells Missourians what the amendment would do. It is readable. It is understandable. It is honest.

Why This Matters

We have seen this playbook before. Every time pro life protections gain momentum, the opposition runs to the courts to confuse the process and muddy the waters. Last year they fought to manipulate ballot language in their favor. This year they are fighting to eliminate language that accurately explains Amendment 3’s balanced and humane approach, which protects life while allowing exceptions for rape, incest, medical emergencies, and specific fatal fetal diagnoses.

If they succeed, the court could force a rewrite that tilts the field toward the abortion lobby once again.

Missouri Christians Must Pray

This is one of those moments when believers across Missouri must pray earnestly and intentionally. The judges now weighing this case need wisdom, integrity, and courage. They must resist political pressure and reject any temptation toward a corrupt or manipulative ruling.

Let us pray specifically that

• The court recognizes that the current ballot language is fair and understandable
• No activist driven rewrite is allowed to distort what Amendment 3 would accomplish
• The judicial system protects the rights of the people and not the agendas of special interest groups
• God exposes and restrains any attempt to mislead voters or sabotage pro life protections

Missouri has an opportunity in 2026 to restore life affirming policies that safeguard women, support families, and protect our most vulnerable children. If the ballot language is manipulated, that opportunity could be stolen.

Stay Alert. Stay Engaged. Stay Prayerful.

The hearing took place yesterday, but the decision is still ahead. Missouri Christians cannot sit back and assume the right outcome will simply happen. We must pray, speak truth, stay engaged, and prepare to vote boldly for life.

Missouri’s future, and the future of thousands of unborn children, depends on it.
