Ballot Language Confirmed for 2026 Amendment 3 — Here’s What’s On the Line

Missouri finally has the official ballot language for the 2026 Amendment 3, and now the voters know exactly what they will see on Election Day. After months of waiting, the courts have finalized the wording, and it lays out a very clear decision for the people of Missouri. Here is the exact language:

Shall the Missouri Constitution be amended to:

• Repeal the 2024 voter approved amendment providing reproductive healthcare rights, including abortion through fetal viability
• Allow abortions for rape and incest under twelve weeks’ gestation, emergencies, and fetal anomalies
• Allow legislation regulating abortion
• Ensure parental consent for minors seeking abortions
• Prohibit gender transition procedures for minors

For the first time since last year’s disastrous amendment passed, Missouri voters have a clear path forward. The choice in 2026 is simple. Either we keep the 2024 amendment, which created one of the most extreme abortion regimes in the country and stripped the state of its ability to protect women and unborn children. Or we replace it with the new and improved Amendment 3, which restores a culture of life, puts common sense limits in place, and protects children from harmful gender transition procedures.

Last year’s amendment was a disaster because it handed sweeping power to the abortion industry, removed health and safety standards, allowed abortion through all nine months of pregnancy for any reason, and tied the hands of Missouri lawmakers. That is the system we have right now. Amendment 3 gives voters a way out. It reinstates parental involvement. It allows the legislature to regulate abortion again. It addresses medical emergencies and fetal anomalies. And it protects minors from gender transition procedures.

The issue is no longer theoretical. The ballot language is confirmed. The lines are drawn. Missouri must decide whether to remain under last year’s extreme amendment or to move forward with a balanced, protective, pro life framework through Amendment 3.

Missouri has always stood strong when our values were on the line. Now that the ballot language is final, the work begins. MO Protects will continue informing voters, strengthening families, and leading the effort to restore a true culture of life in our state.
