D.C. Late-Term Abortionist Faces New Complaint — Why Missouri Must Stand Guard
Late- Term Abortionist, Dr. Cesare Santangelo
In August 2025, pro-life advocates filed a 12-page malpractice complaint with the D.C. Board of Medicine against Dr. Cesare Santangelo, a Washington, D.C. abortionist notorious for killing babies well into their second and third trimesters. The complaint details a “documented history” of women harmed or even killed under his care, and questions whether he is even physically capable of safely performing procedures given his reported health issues (Catholic News Agency).
This is not an isolated concern. Dr. Santangelo has been at the center of controversy for over a decade. In 2012, undercover video captured him admitting that if a baby survived an abortion attempt, he would “not help it”. (Washington Post). In 2022, pro-life activists uncovered the remains of five nearly full-term babies outside his Washington Surgi-Clinic, sparking bipartisan calls in Congress for autopsies and investigations into possible violations of federal law (National Catholic Register). The Department of Justice confirmed this summer that the case remains under active investigation.
This is the kind of “doctor” abortion advocates would love to bring to Missouri if we allow it. His track record is one of killing babies, leaving women permanently injured, racking up malpractice complaints, and carrying out late-term horrific abortions that bear the marks of brutality and illegality.
That is why Amendment 3 is so critical. Missouri must close the door to every abortionist who profits from the destruction of innocent children, whether in the earliest weeks or in the final moments before birth.
Join us in this fight. Give today to MO Protects so we can keep Missouri safe for women and babies, and stop abortionists like Cesare Santangelo at the state line.
