The Trump administration has drafted powerful new rules to end all taxpayer funding for sex change procedures on minors. One rule blocks Medicaid and CHIP from covering puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, or surgeries for anyone under eighteen. A second rule strips Medicare and Medicaid payments from any hospital that performs these irreversible treatments on children, ensuring no federal dollar ever subsidizes the mutilation of innocent boys and girls.
National Victory Still Leaves Missouri Vulnerable
While twenty-seven states have already banned these experimental interventions on minors, Missouri remains one of the few holdouts where activist clinics can still push life-altering drugs and surgeries on confused children using taxpayer money. The federal rules are a monumental step forward, but they only address federal funding. Missouri must go further and permanently ban these practices statewide through Amendment 3 in 2026.
