Labor Day: Honoring the Work of Our Hands and the Gift of New Life
Labor Day is set aside to honor the dignity of work and the men and women whose labor has shaped this nation. Honest work builds homes, raises families, strengthens communities, and sustains the country we love. Scripture reminds us that work itself is a gift from God. Colossians 3:23 tells us, “Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”
There is also a kind of labor that is holy beyond measure. It is the labor of a mother bringing forth new life. Every child born is not only a blessing to America but also a potential servant in the Kingdom of God. God has plans for every boy and girl. He intends to use their lives to bless families, strengthen churches, and shine light in a dark world. Each birth is a new chapter in both the story of our nation and the story of God’s Kingdom.
This is why our mission is so critical. When a child’s life is ended by abortion, we lose not only an American citizen but a Kingdom laborer. We lose someone who could have preached the gospel, taught our children, served in our churches, or even led our nation one day. The stakes are not just political. They are eternal.
Labor Day reminds us that we stand on the work of those who came before us. Now it is our turn to labor for the unborn. Amendment 3 in 2026 is our opportunity to ensure that Missouri remains a place where life is protected, families are strengthened, and God’s purposes are not cut short by abortion.
This Labor Day, as you rest from your work and enjoy time with family, remember the unborn and the mothers who carry them. Pray with us. Stand with us. Work with us. Together we can defend life, protect families, and give glory to God in Missouri.
