The Devil Is Busy… Lying

HBO’s new documentary The Devil Is Busy is being hailed as an emotional glimpse into post Roe America, but what it really shows is a heartbreaking picture of spiritual deception. The film centers on Tracii, a self described Christian who runs security at an Atlanta abortion clinic, a place where innocent life is ended daily. She prays in the morning, sets out snacks, and spends her day protecting the doors through which children enter but never leave.

The filmmakers want viewers to see her as compassionate. In truth, she represents the devastating confusion of a culture that has lost sight of what it means to follow Christ.

A Christian Who Guards the Gates of Death

Tracii’s story isn’t inspiring, it’s tragic. She says she serves a forgiving God while the men protesting outside serve a judging one. But the God of the Bible is not divided. He is merciful and just. He forgives sinners, but He never blesses sin. To defend abortion while invoking His name is blasphemy.

Every abortion is an act of violence against a child created in God’s image. No amount of emotional storytelling can make that righteous. the Bible says, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.” Yet that is exactly what this film does, celebrating the false peace of a conscience that refuses repentance.

The Devil’s Real Work

The devil doesn’t only busy himself in chaos and shouting on sidewalks. His most dangerous work is quiet, convincing people that they can disobey God and still claim His favor. That is the real message of The Devil Is Busy, that you can pray and serve the very industry that slaughters His children.

The producers portray abortion workers as heroes and Christians outside as villains. But the true villains are the lies that twist compassion into complicity. A Christian who protects abortion is no different than a doctor who blesses euthanasia in the name of mercy. You cannot serve both God and death.

The Real Compassion

The pro life movement doesn’t stand outside clinics because we hate women. We stand there because we love them enough to tell the truth. Real compassion means offering help, housing, counseling, and adoption, not escorting women into a building that ends their child’s life.

Tracii says she is tired and prays through tears. Of course she is. There is no peace in standing between a mother and the life of her child. That sorrow is not from persecution, but from a conscience under conviction.

A Message for Missouri and Beyond

As Missouri prepares to vote again on Amendment 3, we must recognize what this film shows us. The enemy is spiritual confusion. Our task is to make truth clear. A follower of Christ cannot defend abortion. A state that values life must enshrine it in law.

The Final Word

The devil may be busy, but God is not confused. The difference between the two sides of this battle is simple. One ends life and calls it compassion. The other defends life because God calls it sacred. Only one of those can be called Christian.

Now is the time for Missouri believers to rise up, speak truth, and protect the innocent. Amendment 3 is our opportunity to restore life to our constitution and righteousness to our state. Join us, give, and stand for the unborn.
