Western District Court Predictably Sides with Planned Parenthood and Blocks Missouri’s Pro Life Laws
The Missouri Western District Court of Appeals has once again sided with Planned Parenthood and against life. In its October 14 decision, the court upheld a lower ruling that blocks enforcement of several Missouri laws designed to protect women and their unborn children.
This ruling allows abortion providers to continue operating while pro life protections remain suspended. The court said it was not ruling on the merits, but the result is the same. Planned Parenthood wins. The unborn lose.
These judges are protecting the abortion industry instead of protecting innocent life. Their actions undermine Missouri’s laws and the values held by millions of Missourians who believe every child deserves a chance to live.
The legislature should not allow this pattern to continue. Missouri does not need a court that stands with Planned Parenthood and against life. If the Western District continues to rule in this way, lawmakers should take action to eliminate the court.
This decision is also a clear reminder of why we must pass Amendment 3. Only by passing this pro life constitutional amendment can we ensure that activist judges and abortion lobbyists cannot rewrite Missouri’s laws to favor Planned Parenthood. Amendment 3 protects life, restores order, and puts the people of Missouri back in charge.
